Exporting data to Excel - Units
« am: September 20, 2005, 12:36 »
Hi all,

I'm just getting into exporting data to Excel for reporting.
It seems that the BG values always get exported in mg/dl.
I use the [MGDL_OR_MMOLL] tag and it displays mmol/l but the actual values seem to be in mg/dl.
Do I have to do my own conversion ?

Thanks,

Jaco.

Hi Jaco,

no the bg levels should be exported with the active bg level unit.

But Excel sometimes does it's own conversion of decimal numbers, if you have tracked bg levels with SiDiary by using another character than Excel expects, i.e. if your locale settings are telling Excel to use the , as the decimal delimiter and you have used the . with SiDiary. In such case Excel converts your decimal number into an integer.
E.g. you have tracked 5.5 in SiDiary and Excel makes a 55 from this value.

There is a FAQ-entry about this phenomenon (including a workaround! :zwinker:):
