Hi,
I'm trying to import data into SiDiary using a CSV file, and even though it says the values were imported, I don't see any values in the program afer I'm done.
Can someone please help?
Thanks,
Walter

Hi Andi,
Here are the first few lines of my file:
DAY;TIME;KETONE;BG_LEVEL;CH_BE_KHE;BOLUS;BASAL;BLOODPRESSURE;REMARK
8/22/2005,2:48:00,0,289,0,0,0,0,0
8/21/2005,22:02:00,0,391,0,0,0,0,0
8/21/2005,17:21:00,0,142,0,0,0,0,0
8/21/2005,10:32:00,0,73,0,0,0,0,0
8/21/2005,9:25:00,0,107,0,0,0,0,0
8/21/2005,8:19:00,0,117,0,0,0,0,0
Hope this enough.
Thanks,
Walter

Hi!
I would suggest that you try this: Seperate the data by ";" and do not use a ",". Then the values should be visible. (I have the tested it with the german version.) The csv-file you want to import sould look like the following:
DAY;TIME;KETONE;BG_LEVEL;CH_BE_KHE;BOLUS;BASAL;BLOODPRESSURE;REMARK
22.08.2005;2:48:00;0;289;0;0;0;0;0
21.08.2005;22:02:00;0;391;0;0;0;0;0
21.08.2005;17:21:00;0;142;0;0;0;0;0
21.08.2005;10:32:00;0;73;0;0;0;0;0

Hi,
I tried using ";" instead of "," but I get the same result.
It says the values were imported, but I don't see them in the BG-Grid or anywhere else.
I don't know what I'm doing wrong.
Thanks for the suggestion,
Walter

Hi Walther,
have you tried to change the the syntax for "Day" from "mm/dd/yyy" to "dd.mm.yyyy"
I have received the same message which told me that the data was imported and yet I did not see them. After I have changed the syntax to the german notification the data was readable.

...
I don't know what I'm doing wrong.
See the difference:
Walter: 8/21/2005,9:25:00,0,107,0,0,0,0,0
Goofy: 21.08.2005;17:21:00;0;142;0;0;0;0;0
I think, the date has to be corrected ...

Hi,
This is my new data file:
DAY;TIME;KETONE;BG_LEVEL;CH_BE_KHE;BOLUS;BASAL;BLOODPRESSURE;REMARK
22.08.2005;2:48:00;0;289;0;0;0;0;0

21.08.2005;10:32:00;0;73;0;0;0;0;0
Same problem . . . . unfortunately.

i have to correct my previous posting :patsch:
i´ve tested with this lines
DAY;TIME;KETONE;BG_LEVEL;CH_BE_KHE;BOLUS;BASAL;BLOODPRESSURE;REMARK
22.08.2005;2:48;0;289;0;0;0;0;0

21.08.2005;10:32;0;73;0;0;0;0;0
look at the time syntax "hh:mm" not "hh:mm:ss"
i´m sorry

Hmmmm ... Very simple but effectfull :rotwerd:
I looked for my data, before i used sidiary:
03.09.2004;06:41;;;;6,0;;;
03.09.2004;06:52;;;8,0;;;;
03.09.2004;10:51;;98;;;;;
03.09.2004;12:14;;;20,0;;;;
03.09.2004;12:14;;;;14,0;;;
03.09.2004;15:13;;118;;;;;
So, i think, the '0' (zero) do not need to filled up ...

I don't know what the problem is . . . . . still no data. Even after I changed the date format not to include seconds. I also tried taking out the "0", nothing yet.
Thanks for your patience. :)
Is there a way to debug the operation? ???
Thanks,
Walter

To debug, the easiest way might be to enter some sample data, and export it. Then you can model your file after the exported data.
I have been successful with files looking like that:
DAY;TIME;KETONE;BG_LEVEL;CH_BE_KHE;BOLUS;BASAL;BLOODPRESSURE;WEIGHT;REMARK
2005-06-17;17:17;;093;;;;;96.1;
2005-06-17;17:26;;;5;6.2;;;;17:26 1.5 hochgesetzt||
Entries in the "small hours" are formatted with padded zeroes:
2005-05-03;00:23;;065;0.5;;;;;
2005-05-03;02:55;;093;;;;;;
2005-05-03;08:04;;087;;;;;;
That at least has been the date format I got from a tentative export. I arranged my script reformatting my data for Sidiary so comments got a leading timestamp and a trailing newline (the double-pipe "||") since SiDiary doesn't maintain the association of the comments with the entry they were made to, but accumulates them all for one day. (And, consecutively, on export duplicates them for each and every line exported!) So data into SiDiary is a one-way trip - keep your backups around.
Formatted this way, the comments align in a way that keeps them usable.
I haven't found how to import/export Sport and other fields yet.
Good luck,
Tatjana

Wow,
what a thread when I'm not online for some hours... :staun:
So of course there's a debug option. ;)
If you would send me your csv file to my personal email address, I will debug it immediately!
Please add some details about your current windows datetime settings.
Cheers, Alf.
