Cannot Upload Freestyle Flash Metter Data

I've been using SiDiary since about April of 2006 and it has always worked perfectly for me.  However, after the most recent update I am no longer able to upload data from my Freestyle Flash meter.  I always get the following error:

"Serial port 1 is already open and locked by another program".

I have looked and can see no other program that may be using this comm port, I uninstalled ActiveSync and my Bluetooth device but I still get this error.  I am at a loss to know what to try next.  Ant suggestions?

Hi Mark,

I would suggest to use a comm port tool like Free Serial port monitor (there are thousands on the web) to check which task has locked the com-port. Last time I stumbled about this error message I did forget that my vmware task was already using the com-port on the host...  :patsch:

Thanks for the suggestion Alf, I had an application running in the background that I had completely forgotten about that was connecting to the comm port.  Everything is working fine now.
